Im having the tranny rebuilt and he wants to know what cam im rumming. The problem is I wanted to do the motor next year. So for now I wanted to put the cam in that I would use During the rebuild next year. I know I will have to change the springs but will I have to much cam and what will it run like. I realley want it to sound good .The motor is stock 1989 454 anyone know the horsepower of it engine # 14015445 bolt main.I do have 2 inch headers to 2 1/2 exhaust and im upgrading to posi with 3.73 gears , performer intake with 770 holley streat avenger carb

Its a flat top motor so you cant get too aggressive with the cam at 8.5:1 ( or less) compression. What are your plans for the rebuild?

I would like about 450 hp street driving may run it just to do it. The motor depends if I buy a new sled or not.
