Anyone running Calvert 90/10's ? how do you like them ,and have you compared with DA front shocks from Strange ,Afco etc ? Trying to decide what to go with. Car is street-strip application. The price on the Calvert's sure is good.

The Calverts are a great shock. I just put some DA AFCO's on after 3 years. But thats only to soften the landing. Davey is still running the Calverts.

Which ones did you use Dal?
And were there any mods needed?
Might be a winter upgrade depending on how things go here soon.

Jon, I tried the 3840 BNC's first, but they lost about 1" of travel and the BNC thing was like a rock. I have 3850's in it now, non BNC. They about 1/2" too long fully compressed, but that actually helps the landing and they have plenty of extension travel now. I'm about in the middle of the compression clicks and it helps the landing a lot.
You have to open the hole in the bottom a-arm to get them in. They provide a weld in ring if you have it apart the makes it easy. Like Dan said, you have to open it some for the Calverts too.

I'm using them, haven't been to the track yet (hopefully in a couple weeks) don't really like them for street driving (not intended for anyways) front end bounces around quite a bit on rough roads.

What about the Strange single adjustable ? I am assuming they have a fixed compression and adjustable extension ? Unless the car has huge wheel stands ( to adjust landings :D) would these be worth the extra cost over the Calvert's ?

Hey Marco....the problem with the single adjustable is you set both compression and extension at the same time so if you loosen extension you are also loosening compression. Personally I like the Calvert's, especially when you consider the cost. Mine being a '67 with the long wheelbase it's not gonna come up as high as a car like Dal's and other '68-'72 A bodies (at least with my power). For a straight 90/10 I don't think you can beat them. I don't remember having to anything to put them in but it was 4 years ago so I'm not positive on that....;)
