I have my original master cylinder and vacuum booster. They are both original 1970. Is it better to buy new units or rebuild the old ones. I can do the master but not the vacuum booster. They were never runing since I bought the car and it was minus a motor. What have some of you done?
Thanks,

If you are doing 100% concours resto, find someone who can put the original ni-cad finish on the booster and rebuild yours. If you are just wanting to drive and enjoy, put a reman. unit on. But I would pay the core charge and keep my originals. Thomas

My booster is Ni-cadmium- silver grey in color, was never gold irridite in color. What is the correct color? It seems all I ever see is the gold irridite color. Interesting that you stated cadmium in color. I have been thinking that somehow mine lost it color over time. AND I have seen numerous cadmium colored boosters.

Everyone I have had and can seem to remember (69-72) have all been ni-cads, but have seen quite a few done in gold irr. I think the master cyl. were gold irr., good question for the Resto section. Someone out there has the answer.Thomas
