Don't get me wrong here, I like an all original Chevelle as much as anything. But I also like variety!

I'm not starting this topic to debate whether it is right or wrong to change aspects of the original GM designs, but rather to see (in pictures) some of the custom modifications that various people have made.
Examples:

  • Non-Standard Stripes
  • Emblem Changes
  • Spoilers
  • Custom Consoles or Interiors
  • Hood Scoops

You get the idea!

Pictures please!

Still in progress:

99 3/4 ton Van engine, GM cam, Weiand intake, Typhoon throttle body, Accel injectors, GM harness re-pinned, Corsica somputer, factory air, Caprice radiator

Aukai-I like the console, I was thinking about grafting a gauge into the top plate of my console, but ended up hiding it somewhere else.

Nope. getting close-maybe another week worth of getting around to it. I'm not competent enough to do it, so it's at a buddy's who's sorting out the wiring and programming. He finished re-pinning the harness and marking the wires this past weekend, probably through the week it will get sorted out better and maybe running by end of the weekend. :hurray: Trying to hook up with the last leg of Power Tour in @ 3 weeks.

'69 Malibu, painted 1995 Corvette "Dark Cloisonne" with hood/deck stripes, '95 Buick LeSabre side mirrors, 17" Billet Specialties "Vintec" wheels, C5 'vette 13" front brakes, 98-02 LS1 F-body 12" rear discs, and the suspension set up to out-handle BMWs, C4 vettes, and late model pony-cars.

Engine is a '95 LT1 (LS1s were still too expensive when I did the swap) and 4L60e out of a Caprice State Patrol car. Internally stock, just headers, programming, and a 3000rpm Edge converter. With 3.08s I ran a traction-limited 13.82... now I have 4.10 gears, and sticky tires, which should put me somewhere between 12.9 and 13.1. Gas mileage dropped from 24 with 3.08s to 19 with 4.10s.

Needed an electronic speedometer with the trans, so I adapted Autometer Phantom gauges to fit the stock cluster.

With all the handling improvements, I couldn't keep my ass centered on the Strato-Buckets, so I had Procar Rally 2000s recovered in stock '69 Parchment upholstery.

My customizations were a little more subtle.

I went with a non-standard color, Charcoal Pearl Metallic, slotted wheels and tinted windows!

I like how it sets off the chrome.

Malibu with:
Non-functioning cowl hood
Non-standard paint - Chrome Yellow
No emblems except grille and trunk - front SS emblem center section is yellow to match car
No chrome side moldings

Not an SS but I like the hood and stripes!!!
