i know where their is a 70-72 skylark with a sweep speedo. it has the white face with chrome trim, just like the rest of my guages.

i was wandering if the skylark speedo is a drop in for the 70-72 velles? i know the gas guage is on the left side, but other than that, would it work? i could probably pick it up for almost nothing anyways, but wouldnt be till it got warmer out.

any help is great.

If you can get it to fit and it is cable drive it should work. I used to swap gauges from other cars alot, but never a speedo.

Cool,
I just ordered a GPS speedo. As the name implies it runs of a GPS satalite signal. Will also post how that turns out.

The reason for it is, I have a 4L80E trans with no electronic controls, so no speedo. I would need an expenceive "box" to adapt electric signal to mechanical drive. Or another expenceive option is to convert the trans to a cable drive tail housing.
With the GPS speedo I can ad maps/navigation if wanted or tranfer it to another car......
