Hello, this is my first post to this site, I am about to tackle this seat and console conversion and was wondering if any could send some pictures along with instructions regarding this installation.
The car is a 72 Chevelle (w/th350) currently with Column shifter and Bench seats. I have purchased the buckets seats from a 69 GTO and the console came out of a Monte Carlo. I just ordered all the parts required to install these pieces including both wiring harnesses, shifter cable, shift conversion kit and brackets for the buckets. My questions are:
1. Mounting the console (location for rear console bracket, shifter and cable)
2. Is it correct that the front of the console get screwed directly to the floor pan?
3. Wiring harness (where does this get connected to under the dash)
4. What do I do about the seat belts on the inner side of the seats, do they remain in the same position?
5. Using the shifter conversion kit, is anything else required to be done to the linkage from the original steering column.
I hope I didn't make my first post here to winded but I just want to make sure I do this right the first time.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I can answer a few of your questions.
The shifter linkage: Leave the linkage that goes from the column to the transmission on, it serves as a safety lockout so the tranny cannot be engaged when the car is parked (safety feature).
The console, you will have to look at a car with a factory console to get the correct measurements for the bracket. Yes, the front gets screwed directly to the floor pan.
The seat belts: For each bucket, you will need to retain 2 female buckles, one for the lap belt and one for the shoulder belt. So in essence you are only removing the center bench seat belt.
Make sure you get the shifter cable bracket that mounts to the transmission as well.
The other 70 I have in my back yard was an original bucket seat car so I can get the measurements from it tomorrow and a picture so you can see.

Good idea on the shift linkage, thanks.
On the seat belts, do they remain in the same position? (minus the center belts)
What are the seat belt pouches for that attach to the console?
The shift conversion kit I believe is for the transmission, I think this is to convert from column to console. Any idea if this is tricky to hook up.
I would appreciate any pictures.
Thanks!

Can you email my way also?
