Slightly off topic,But why go with boxed arms. Are the stock ones really that bad??
Can't really install a rear sway bar unless the lower control arms are boxed.

If you drill the side of a standard arm and bolt on the sway bar, then the arm will eventually crack around the bolt holes. The shape of the boxing reinforcement is such that your bolts go right through the arm and out the other side spreading the stresses our so that cracking doesn't happen. Speaking from personal experience.

All the Chevelle vendors sell the inserts that are required to box stock non-boxed arms. Simply weld them in, you're good to go.

Or you can just buy some 1/8" steel and cut out your own inserts. I did that and made a nice set of boxed LCA's that I sold to another member here.

the inserts do not fit inside all the arms, some are too narrow. also, sway bar ends came with 5.5 in and 6 in hole spacing. The inserts can be used with only one hole spacing, not the other, so be sure to do the correct hole spacing based on the sway bar first.

I had a rear sway bar installed in my '70 with open LCA's for several years, and no problems. I just boxed them recently, since I was putting in the 454, the posi, the rear disc brakes and so on.
