want to build a bb chevy 402 bored .060 would like to put 2.19/ 1.88 valves in heads with hardened seat its a daily driver not trying to to get every tenth of sec out of this build would this be a decent running combo looking for a head turner

Depends on the heads, pistons, cam, converter, trans, & gear.

The eternal spirits are in the details, for better or worse.

Sure seems like a waste of time to mess with that; if you have to TOUCH the short block, touch a 454 instead. Same deal as 305/350.

All around, unless your primary purpose is to reduce vehicle weight by reductions centered at the owner's wallet, most likely your money is better spent some other way.

Wouldn't waste my money on big valves on a 396. The big valves end up flowing less due to the shrouding by the smaller bore. Save your dough for a hyd roller cam instead. Or maybe some bowl blending and pocket porting.
