Picked up a project awhile back, someone had "started" a ground up restoration.. As I am going through it of course I am finding things that are incorrect. Anyhow the body bushing were replaced and they were incorrect and very tall. I am in the process of replacing them and I have a stopper..
The rear body mount bolt is stripped big time, i presume from some smart guy with an impact.. I have tried everything I can think of from using the WT of the car to prying to try and catch a thread yet to no avail it is there..
I can of course cut out the bushing and probably get the bolt out although going back in is the problem, this area in the 68 velle is enclosed. Should I go through the trunk? I really hate to cut inside the trunk even if it is small.. no rust/orig.. Anyone have this problem or have any good idea's of what I should do.. atm I am post paint and was working my body HT, found it was very tall thus explored and found the bushings to be incorrect.. Pull off rear bump and go in through there? Since I cannot see what is inside or how much metal I am dealing with I am unsure if I could possibly go with a larger thread bolt, hate to go that route although.. Anyhow thanks in advance for any advice on this prob..
