Hello all. Purchased a Blueprint SBC 427. Wanting to get 1 3/4" primary headers that will fit in a 67 chevelle. Car is lowered, so ground clearance is essential. They need to tuck up nice. Looking at the Sanderson C12 and Dougs D369. Does anyone have input or another option? Thank you!

Ground clearance is always a concern with long tube headers on a lowered chevelle. I use Dynatech musclemaxx headers and fitment everywhere is great but they do hang a little lower than I’d like. I’ve had a few sets of different headers over the years and they all hang pretty close to the same ground clearance. Unfortunately there’s a limited choice of 1-3/4” mid length headers. I picked up a nice set of 1-3/4 inch mid lengths from hooker for super cheap hoping they’d fit my car but they don’t. They’re for Camaros and novas. Sorry for the long rambling that didn’t answer your questions. Let us know how that engine runs when you get it all buttoned up

If Lemons are too pricey for you, look at Hedman #68198. Also known for great fit on 64-67 Chevelles. These are what I plan on getting when the time comes.

Yes, I have heard the 68198 fit great however, those are for a big block car. I am looking for headers for a small block car. Thanks!

I read somewhere that Patriot/Pertronix bought I think it was Dougs Headers and built in the same bldg now, might want to look at who's better priced since they'll probably be the same header, I highly rec'd coated headers to help keep under hood temps down Edit might want to research what I wrote, my memory sucks

Dougs D369 Fit great, lots of ground clearance. My car is lowered 2 inches front and rear. Only problems is #7 spark plug access. I have a 4 speed, so the z bar needs to be removed to get that plug from underneath. You definitely need a mini starter.

hi
SBC 1 7/8 would be a better power producing option if could find a set your happy with . An adapter plate set should fit the head exhaust port perfect although I suspect there are some sets being done with out .
But as u have stated its all about fit / clearance .

427 BBC seem to benefit from either 1 7/8 or 2 inch primaries
