Well, since I've made an issue out of the Patriot heads, I thought I'd at least post some pics of what they went on. I just finished this for a customer and yes, it's a "boat" engine, but less the intercooler and zoomies, it would look pretty sharp between the fenders of any Chevelle, now wouldn't it?
Gen6 509, 4.00 GM crank, 6.135 Manley rods, JE blower pistons w/ .188 wall pins, JE rings, Patriot heads, Straub custom roller, Isky Red Zone lifters, custom pushrods, 1071 with a SuperChiller, 1150's and a Stefs pan.

Sweet.. any Dyno numbers
Thanks. Unfortunately that won't be in the customer's budget. The tune up can range from low boost (<5#), easy timing and pump gas, which my guess will be in the mid 800's, to 15# (or more) boost, good gas and some timing for over 900. All depends on how agressive the customer wants to get. The engine is built for it if he wants to push it. Cold water through the intercooler makes a big difference.

My motor was in a 18ft gullwing,(350lb haul),before it went into the Chevelle. With the
8-71 blower and the holley 850's @ 10lbs of boost it made 847. with the 10-71 and the dominators @ 16lbs of boost, made a little over 900. Motors a 496, with 325 Darts. Everyone I've known, thats had a 500 plus inch motor, has made a lot more power with the 10-71, and the dominators. it was like night and day in the gullwing

Man, that's going to be a handfull of a Chevelle.:hurray::thumbsup:
I did a thread a while back on a 489 I did for a friend with a '68 Elky that dyno'd at 853 with an 8-71 and 850's, just under 10#. It had Canfield 310's that I did up from unmachined.
Nice job there. Bet that Gullwing was a kick.;)

This is hilarious! I haven't mentioned one thing about my Stang (someone else brought it up) and you already have it figured out. 614 RWHP is stout, no doubt, but it aint special. For all you know the Stang could be a 1Khp TT deal, which I know of several, and they might just hand your Vett it's lunch. They don't spend a lot of time on the internet yappin about their RWHP either.
Besides, I was talkin about a different kind of Vett...the kind that don't handle (but their owners think they do). When you guys want to do more than drive in a straight line for a few hundred feet, let me know.

Kids!

All in fun.
And nice hijack, BTW.:D:thumbsup:
