Red acetylene tank is the approved color now? We always had black tanks for acetylene. Never knew it had changed.

Mine have always been silver. With a red hose on my torches. Black has been nitrogen.

I've had both red & black but I use portable so maybe large tanks are different, I really hate when I cant see what Im typing on my phone but I'll post a pic of my van tanks in a min

No standard up here anyways. As a distributor exchanged 25-30 acetylene, oxygen, and nitrogen tanks a week to contractors. Saw all colours. All from the same gas supplier. That one must have made one heck of a bang. Glad no one was hurt.
