whats the skinney on big block oil pans, depaending on who you go to a stock pan for a 454 can be from 1964 - 1990 or 1964 to 1977 or????
i just sent my 3rd stock MIlodon pan back to jegs because of alignment hole issues. they say the big block pans are the same from 64-90 I don't know. i have an 82 454 that i am going to put into my 71 SS el camino. i want a stock pan but after 3 pans i think i want an original GM pan.
thanks everyone

Quality control on some of the aftermarket stuff can be pretty bad. I had some aftermarket big block valve covers with holes that were so far off that they had to be oblonged just to bolt them on. If it doesn't fit, send it back. It has to start piling up in someone's warehouse eventually.

I tried 2 Moroso pans on my 502 and both leaked no matter what I tired. Ordered the smaller GM pan and haven't seen a drop since. Others have had no problems with Moroso but I got tired of dealing with it.
