I purchased a Set of Used Bowtie Valve Covers, I thought they were the GM performance Set but it says right on them "Made In California" and the baffles are not welded in like the GM performances ones, has anyone ever used these before? and do I need some sort of special grommet so the oil doesn't get sucked in through the PCV?

Put the PCV in the OTHER valve cover. Breather vent in one, PCV in the other.

Do not run a PCV and a breather on the SAME cover.

Those used to be sold under Summit Racing's brand name as well....

I was looking into those and the GM version at one time myself. The Summit ones were priced better, and came with the breather holes. The GM covers had no pre-drilled breather holes and were over-priced. As far as looks, if you put the two brands side by side, you'd see a difference in the "Chevrolet" and bowtie size.

Nothing wrong with those baffles at all. If any of the screws come out easily, I'd add some locktite to the threads for piece of mind.

Odd, I have two sets of these GMPP cast aluminum valve covers and neither set has breather/PCV provision and there are no bosses for screws to attach any baffles as previous photos indicate. They give you instructions on drilling for them but not provided as sold. They are in the original GM boxes and info as follows:

Natural Finish
p/n 12371244
Casting #'s 12370836 1759
Logo ZEUS

Black Powder Coat Finish
p/n 25534323
Casting #'s 12370836 1759
Logo None

I would have to assume that the ones in the previous photos are ones made under license from GM. My two cents!

Now that Dave mentioned it, he's correct. That photo of the welded baffle is from a totally different GM valve cover. Here's the proof... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-427-Big-Block-Chev-Calve-Covers-BBC-/161094844517

I had a set of the black GM ones and here's what they looked like inside. Breather holes were added, didn't come that way...

Right. The photo of the "welded" baffle is from the ebay add. The part number off the baffle comes up as GMPP 427 black wrinkle finish. The ones like yours with black wrinkle finish and no baffles that just have a Bowtie logo & "Chevrolet" are indeed part number 25534323. They have bosses but are not drilled for PCV nor breathers...
