I just purchased a 64 Malibu SS last week. I've been plowing through some of the receipts and parts documentation spent on the restoration and I'm a little confused about the cam document. The previous owner said there was a mild cam installed when they refreshed the motor.
The spec sheet of the Comp Cam found amongst the documentation list the cam part # as 11-218-4 and at the top of the spec sheet it says for "Chevy Big Block 396-454". Does this sound right? Just want to get my knowledge about the car correct so I don't sound like a fool when asked about the motor.
Just an FYI, the motor is a 327, Double Hump Heads, Holley 650 Street Avenger, Kooks Long Tube headers, Comp Cam. Nothing fancy, but a great cruising engine.
