Hi, I recently purchased a 67 Chevelle SS 396 with a modified 396 in it (Speed Pro forged pistons, Isky cam, Edelbrock RPM Performer intake, Holley 850 dual feed, double pumper carb, Hooker headers, etc. (around 425-450 HP). It's a car show and summer cruising car, not a drag racer. I'm going to give it a tune up and replace the spark plugs and spark plug wires to make sure it continues to run good (not sure how old the current ones in the car are now). What are the preferred plugs and wires people are running today for this type of set up? I also have a nice sound system in the car so I don't want any interference from the headers coming through from the plug wires. Any suggestions for plugs and wires would be very much appreciated!! Thanks, Rory

Splitfires all the way!...just kidding.:eek::D

I use AC plugs in GM cars because that's way it should be.:thumbsup:
If not using the repro date coded wires, I like both Taylor and Pertronix wires.:yes:

I'm using Taylor also (#74004) . Angled boots to clear the headers. As far as plugs, everyone has their own fav I guess. Not sure one is really better than the other. Just my .02
Here are some pics of my new Taylor wires installed.(74004) 45deg. angled plugs. they all clear the headers fine. Hopefully this helps someone else who is looking for the right spark plug wires.

Run AC delcos in stock iron heads and NGK's in aluminum. No need to waste money with msd 8.5mm wires, been there done that, taylors fit the bill. Summit brand 8mm work well too, same resistance as the taylors but about $40 a set.

I like the roll-ur-own Taylors with the 135 degree boots. I use the 180 ends so that it appears oem and "medusa-like" at the cap. Stock oem clips. You need the crimping tool to do it right.

Heres pics of my Taylor 76032 wires with 45/135 degree boots at the plug I like the gm 12495502 wire looms good looking, discrete and cheap without sacrifice function.
