I currently have a 71 chevelle with a bench seat and a column shifter. I just aquired a very nice set of 2000 black leather power Camaro bucket seats. I think the verticle stiching will match the car very nicely. I want to put in a center console with the horseshoe shifter (as I have a 700R4).
So who makes the best aftermarkter unit with all the components for the best price? I need the shifter, hardware, shift linkage (?), and plastics.
Any known issues getting one of these onto a 700R4?

I went with Lokar. You cannot beat the quality of their shifters, but they are not cheap; about $700 with shifter and console but it's all made to work together and everything works. Their kit also has a wide choice of shifter knobs and use a cool press button feature.

I personally really like the factory horseshoe shifter look alot. It was something I was very disappointed my car did not have when I bought it. I'd like a complete kit that gives me the factory horseshoe with everything needed to work with a 700R4.

I thought I'd get more of a response from this.....ummmm.

So far the places I have looked are:
Tamraz.... I found the shifter shoe for about 150.
OPGI........I found just the plastic console for 190.
Year One..I found a console, doors, hinges, lenses and hardware for 360.

Anywhere else you guys think I can find a good deal?
I'd like a used "driver" quality, but they are hard to come by it seems.

PS~Can you guys tell me a little bit of the difference in these consoles between years in case I find a used one? I have a 71, but I'm interested in anything that fits really that will look good. I've noticed woodgrain stuff and black stuff. Any help on this subject?

If you don't mind the shipping costs, I have everything you need and it's all original but restored. Black in color, came out of a 68 so it's got the chrome seatbelt clasps. Could be easily changed out to the plastic later model ones though. The horseshoe hasn't been modifiied to the 4spd auto though, that could also be done easily. Pm me if interested.

I thought I had a deal worked out on here for a promising center console, but it fell through.
So I'm looking again.
Can you guys tell me what all I need on top of this kit to fit one of these into a column shift car? I am now wondering about the shifter cable. I don't really know how that works.

I've seen THOUSANDS of Chevelle's...

Seen aftermarket seats/consoles and seats from other manufacturers in Chevelle's...

I have yet to see one that I really like. Someone 5-6 months ago had a set of seats and a console that they put in that looked pretty good, but that was the first time that I liked a Chevelle without the factory stuff...

IMO The best seats and shifter to put in a Chevelle is the stock stuff. The only shifter that beats that horseshoe is the pistol grip...

Sometimes you will hear someone say...Shoulda just bought the original stuff...

It seems I have stuck a new deal with "Cheveslakr" (Jerry) from team chevelle. It seems like he has a 100% complete kit for a decent asking price. I just need to find a mounting bracket to weld to the floor now. Thanks Jerry for helping a fellow team chevelle member out!
