I'm bending all new brake lines for my SBC 70 El Camino. It was stock drum brakes, now has front disc, so I'm moving the proportioning valve up by the MC. I've got headers and I dont like the looks of having the valve 1" from the pipes...

Does anyone have Pics of this kind of setup? I want to have an idea of what looks/works good before I start bending away. Not sure if I should wrap the lines around behind the booster like the stock setup, or straight down to the frame etc.

Much appreciated

Header companies have been building these headers for these cars for 30 years. You would think they could bend them so there would be no interference problems. This is a link to a number of pictures of what I did to fix the problem. http://www.leverfamilysite.com/Springs_Brakes_Headers.htm

Below is my low tech. solution to pipe bending.:waving:

Only problem now is there's a speed bump in the Living room. ;)

Wow, that was a tight squeeze in there before you bent the headers back. I've got a little more room than that, but I'd still rather have the valve up top, away of the high heat and the dirt etc... Nice job.

You should thinking of putting on some seam sealer on that floor pan repair. This look like a new spot for rust to form.
Just another project for when I do the frame off.:waving:
