would the purpose of this be to flush the bits of metal from machining or whatever- and other contaminates out of the m/c,to make sure the passages are clean before hooking up the plumbing to the brake lines? my new one came oily and had tiny bits of metal inside the cylinder. how do you do this? thanks for any instruction.

To get the air out of the master cylinder (From what Ive been told) If Its a new master cylinder it should have came with a kit, but if it didn't go to your local auto parts store and pick up a bleeder kit like so -> http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/DOR3/13911.oap?keyword=master+cylinder+bleeder+kit. Then from there it's pretty self explanatory. If you don't have a Vice then You'll Need a wall and a friend to hold it MC still, But pretty much you hook up the hoses to the fittings, the fittings to the MC ports. ( make sure the other end of the hoses are submerged in brake fluid in your reservoir....One to each port If its a dual ) And then you press in a piston with a screwdriver until you see no bubbles....yup
