I got some pretty good pictures of the rust between the floor pans and supports, and would like to say, thanks again men, I appreciate it.

Now could I get some before you take it apart pictures, I know I'm asking for a lot on this one, but what I'm interested in this time, is an angle shot on the bottom of the pan close up by the edge of the support, then one on the inside of the car at an angle where the spot weld indents are, to see if its swollen up from rust underneath, then one after its pulled apart.

Please, if some of you could do this, thanks.

Rob-
I posted on your last thread...I was the lucky guy with the Dallas car. Anyway, I happen to be working on a day that was supposed to be "Chevelle day" so I don't have access to my picture album. I did start a thread a little while back called "Slicing and Dicing Jitters." I'll try to link it here: http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162847

Anyway, there are a few pictures on that thread regarding the top of my underseat floor pan before I hacked it away. I may have a few shots from underneath...but I have THICK goopy undercoating that would likely hide the detail you're looking for. I can check when I get home.

I've got my driver's full length and full under-rear-seat pan mostly fitted right now. I've got about 20 sheetmetal screws holding them on right now, and I'll have to take them back off, clean and prime all my braces and then begin butt-welding them all in. If the point of your posts are to gain insight on what the scope of the job is, PM me, as it seems I'm about 2 steps ahead of you (job-wise), and would gladly fill you in on the pitfalls I've already encountered.

Thanks Tim, what i'm trying to do is put something together that somebody can look at a car and figure out what all it needs beforehand.

Why am I doing this, I'm asking myself that, why should I even bother with it.

There are a lot of people out there that get taken, and its been bothering me. People take the last bit of money that they can scrape up, buy a car on ebay, get it home, and some guy has ripped them off.

If I can get some pictures of before and after, good close ups, I think I can set something up.

But, this is going to take some help from some of the people on here that are doing there floors.

With out good pictures, I don't have anything to show.

I'm just going to try it on this forum only, if I get the pictures, I'm going for it, time will tell.

Theres a lot of guys on here that keep close tabs on bogus stamping, and try and help others. They stay focused on the matching numbers, and this is a good thing we have them.

I don't know anything about the numbers game, but I know a little bit about the sheet metal, so maybe I can help out in something, that I'm more familar with.

Anyway, maybe we can flush these rats out.

Ha, nope, the floorpans went untouched. It was the front clip that was laying on the highway. I'm referring to the dare I say it "hillbillys" that previously owned the 67 in my garage. They cut a hole the size of New England to install a Vertigate Shifter, and then tried to repair it by covering the entire floor with Glass. LOL. I got lucky, they somehow managed to miss the braces entirely with the nuclear bomb they let loose in the car.

Be sure and teach them how to check for this:

That and pop-rivetted steal had me REALLY tricked into thinking my car was going to be nicer than it was. Its amazing how good some of those guys back in the 80's where at making bondo look like body lines. That top picture of my floors looks ok, no huge holes or anything. But its mostly pop-rivetted patches, thats why the brace is so nasty on the underside. It also explains the odd piece sticking up over the door sill. It was so old and crusty I didn't notice the rivets on my first, far to quick, inspection. If I knew then what I know now I would have given 1/2 what I gave for my car, maybe less.
