Hi Gents. Was wondering what BBC mini starter is good for a 1971 Chevelle Super Sport 454 cu. in. 450 H.P. 168 tooth flywheel staggered bolt pattern starter. Something that's not gonna cost me a lot of $$$$.Thanks a lot Fast Eddie

I like the Powermaster 9526 starter, you can use all 3 mounting bolts.

Yep PMGR starter were popular on late 90s Chevys. I pulled a PMGR off a late 90s Tahoe for about $25 and it never failed me on my 454

I have used the AC Delco 3371022 many times. Just be sure to use the right bolts. Dorman 678107.

Yeah, that actually the one I have. Just grabbed one off ebay. tht had the straight pattern.

Not exact same as your link but I have used one of those permanent magnet cheap starters for 10 years without problems.

You can find several mini starters at many stores including NAPA or ebay or Summit or ebay etc.
I bought a Chevrolet Performance 3.375 ratio high torque for up to 11 to 1 compression Chevy Performance #19302919 from Summit and had to force my hand in my pocket to do it but it's hands down the best mini starter I've ever used (it should be too). It's a permanent magnet.I like this unit alot as it spins my engine easily wihout complaint and for the 374bucks it shoudbethe bad top of the drawer piece. Can be found on ebay for 225 or so. I paid 375 for mine. works like it should,

The 3371022 is not straight pattern. It is offset for the 168T flexplate.

The 3371022 is not straight pattern. It is offset for the 168T flexplate.

The one that I got off the new crate motor was a staggered pattern. The one that I quickly grabbed off the internet was straight pattern because I slipped up.

I've spit out many of the DB starters but they are certainly cheap enough. Just not in the same class as the GM high compression 19302919.
