A friend has several sets of BBC heads to sell and gave me the ##'s.
#336765 68-78 oval,open,427t
#343772 68-86 oval,open,366t,427t,&454
#3933148 69-84 oval,open,366t,427t,&69 396-265hp

These appear to be truck heads,so are they of any use on a car motor?He is only asking $75 for each set,or $200 for the 3 sets.Can they be "souped up" to use on a street motor (454)...

I have one that I use to hold one end of a tarp the other side is held by a 5 gallon bucket full of cement they are worth about the same.

10 days ago this topic could have resulted in a 30-post argument from some of the BBC experts. Funny how perspective changes.

The 765 and 772 are truck heads and I'm guessing have small intake ports and known as "peanut" port heads. Maybe OK for a low rpm torquer engine but not good for much power at higher rpm, say over 4000. The 148 head is from a '69 Chevy car 396 2 bbl engine. It had a 112cc semi-open combustion chamber and, I believe, normal size oval intake ports which are good for performance engines. It would be good with the right pistons for a little higher cr than stock. The 772 and 765 heads, if peanut port, aren't much good for performance use.
