I was wondering what some of the BBC motors footbraked at with what stall. Bought a 3000-3400 converter and footbrake is 3200. Also 71 el camino has stock front/rear suspension, 12 bolt posi, 550-600 hp bbc, TH400, 3.73 gear, 235/60/15 tires and will go to the track once or twice this year to ET the car. Right now there are no 1st gear hits possible due to wheel hop and small tires. Can hit in 2nd from about 35-40 mph and get through the tire spin. I want to do the minimum mods to the rear and tires to make a decent pass at the track. will be running a 28" slick at the track. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Footbrake stall is relative to your brakes and your tires. The better your brakes and tires, the more brake stall you will get. Your flash stall is dependent on the power of your engine.

With my current converter, if I lower the pressure on my tires to 20-25 psi, it footbrakes to 2500, then flashes to 3000, which the converter is rated at.

If I air up the tires to regular psi, 35, then it only footbrakes to 2100 or so before they break loose.
