Got a high perf. 402 , edlebrock alum. intake, should I use the restriction insert or block it off? Fel-pro calls for it to be left open, are they talking about stock intake and maybe no headers.

Does your car have a choke, if so what type?

Do you drive the car in very cold weather?

Define "high perf". (compression, cam, heads, intended usage, track times, dyno readings, etc.)

Define "edlebrock alum. intake". (performer, RPM, Victor, etc.)

Plus of course, Todd's equally important questions.

All of the above factor into the decision to block, restrict, or leave fully open.

Assuming you refer to the crossover passage, block it unless you';re using a stock bimetal coil choke.
