Was wondering when is it beneficial to use 1.8 ratio rockers over the standard 1.7 rockers ? The only people I remember using them would use half a set on the exhaust side of the motor when they ran a single pattern cam, for example 280/280 520/520.

you would want to use them on the intake side these days
or get the correct cam and use the regular 1.7 rockers.. >:)

Just about all our conventional BBC street-builds get 1.8's on the intakes. Very rare any longer using 1.7's/1.7's across!

P.S. We use so many of these ratios we now order the sets with the 1.8's and 1.7's, pretty much the only way we keep them here now. We put many of our own sets together here also.
