hey guys purchased a battery disconnect for my 69.ive had different opinions on this one,which terminal do i install it on .i beleive its the negative, but my uncle says how does that work if theres a short the positive is still hooked up? ..looking for the right way to go i know you guys will help thanks in advance....

Negative. Even if there is a short somewhere, as long as the path to the negative battery terminal is interrupted, there can't be a circuit.

I've got mine on the negative side. All you are after is a means of interupting the circuit and without a ground nothing works.

hmmmm....does it hurt to have it on the positive side?? That's where mine is...seems to work fine

No difference. It's like one long wire from the negative through whatever circuits then back to the positive. As long as you completely break the circuit the result is the same.
