Hey!! I'm new to this forum (obviously)... I live in Rescue CA and provide "Safety, Service and Security" for a living... I've been mainly a VW guy for years, but I've always been a muscle car fan too.
I just returned form a family reunion in Nor-Cal. While I was there, I see the nose of a dusty car poking out of an open garage/barn door, so I take a closer look. Turned out to be my Aunts 71 Chevelle that she's had since 1974(ish). I thought about it and actually remembered riding in it when I was just a pup. I had to inquire more.... She said "that old thing, yea I need to get rid of it"... This was my look, :disco::noway::yes::hurray:
So she gave me the rundown. Its been parked in that garage since 1999 and started up regularly. Has about 25k on a rebuilt 350. Was repainted in the 80's a silver blue color (not sure if its an original color). It looks great too. Bumpers are flawless, interior is excellent. It looks like the front is lower than stock. It has Appliance aluminum wheels on it. They look to me like typical 80's aluminum wheels with the holes in them. Not sure what brakes it has. Were discs stock or an option in 71?
It looks like the car will be mine for a fair price. I told her "I think we should keep it in the family" and she agreed. Can you believe my cousin said she use to get embarrassed when she would get dropped off at school in it. I told her she was crazy!!
Once I take possession I will surely have several questions. I will also post up some pics to get some opinions from the experts on here.
The plan will be to do a complete tune up to see where she's at driving wise, then go from there.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!! Its been a long day, but I got her!! Here she is, the Silver Bullet :D (Talk about ironic: I found an old Coors Light can under the driver seat!!)

I took her for a drive today, about five miles. Running a bit rough, but nothing a day of tuning can't fix. Tomorrow is inspection day: fluids, brakes, electrical, etc...

Please comment.... I could use the feedback on this one!

Thanks Jake! I will definitely be taking/posting more pictures.

Last night I took off the old steering wheel cover hoping to find a pristine NOS-like steering wheel. WRONG! What I found was a cracked, bent, and ugly wheel. A steering wheel has now been added to my list of wants/needs... I like the 3-spoke steering wheel for 1969-70. Can it be adapted, or will it just fit the 71? Like this one here > http://www.ecklerschevelle.com/product.asp?pf_id=606335&dept_id=1719

Thanks again!
