Guys:
Would like a little input on a potential problem. I recently purchased a couple of items from an internet ad. Guy wanted $75, I offered $60 shipped, he accepted. In an e-mail after he received his money, he states shipping was $30 and he wanted to make $50 on the sale and asked if would send him an additonal $20 "to be fair". I ignored his original e-mail as he included some comments, intended or not, that were taken by me to be [email protected]$$. I finally told him I would send him an additional $10 to split the cost along with my thoughts on the whole issue. Anyway he said the parts were shipped last Thursday 8/20 via USPS and gave me a package code, which I took to be a tracking number. The parts have not arrived as of yesterday and the USPS website indicates the numbers can't be tracked via internet, implying that I may be able to go to the PO and get some information.
Any comments about what I can/should do? E-mailing the seller is starting to get nowhere with attitude on both ends. Below are copies of the our e-mail exchanges:

NICE LETTER BUT I HAVE TO SAY SORRY ABOUT THE STICKS THING BUT THE POST OFFICE SAID THAT'S WHAT CAME UP ON THERE SCREEN, DID NOT MEAN ANY HARM TO YOU. I WENT TO UPS AND THE SHIPPING WAS $43, AND POST OFFICE WAS $30. AS FOR THE SHIFTER BEING ONLY $10 I GUESS I`LL TRY FEDEX NEXT TIME. TO THE COST FOR THE EXTENSIONS I USUALLY JUST PUT WHAT I WANT AND THEN GET THE ADDRESS BEFORE I AGREE ON THE FINAL PRICE BUT I SCREWED UP NOT YOUR FAULT.THANKS .

First off, I did not hold back where I live. Second, most folks that sell off the internet will indicate either cost plus actual shipping or much like you did accept an offer such as mine, happens all the time. Now the fact of the matter is, I just received a shifter from a seller on TeamChevelle for $10 shipping - FedEx. He is from Michigan and the box itself was big enough to have housed the tail light extensions you sold me. So I think based on size and weight, the shipping costs should have been roughly the same. The shifter was sent out Saturday and received yesterday, I have yet to receive the extensions.
Once I have received the parts and they are as described, I will send you $10. This splits the shipping cost between us. I think this is fair. BTW my address is not a rural address but rather a street address with mail delivery. Also, saying people “live in the sticks” and then asking for money for which someone is not obligated to pay is not the best way to approach a situation such as this. I do not appreciate your inference that I “held back” my address, as this seems to say I am trying to cheat or take advantage of someone. Nothing could further from the truth. I have given away parts on TeamChevelle to people. If you would like, I can give you a couple for reference.
