Hi, I have a 66 chevelle SS 396 with the origonal wiring harnesses. The car came with the optional guage package and a 4-spd and console. All wiring for the backup lights is there up to the firewall connection. The switch with lead wire, sheild, bracket and rod that connects to the reverse lever is gone. The present transmission is a Muncie from 1970 and the reverse lever on the 70 is different than the reverse lever on 65-68's. Is there anyway that I can use to switch, bracket and rod for the 65-68 and connect it to the reverse lever from the 70. Or any other ideas on how I can hook up a backup light switch?

I like that idea a lot. Gregg, can you give us some details about what kind of switch you used on your car? I have some door pin switches but they are fragile and probably not the most weather tolerant. Thanks
