I know the width of a 68 - 72 is 58.5 inches wide. What cars do I look for in the local salvage yards that will match ? Thanks !

68-72 (Buick) Sportwagon, Skylark, Special, GS, (Chevy) Chevelle, Malibu, (Olds) Vista Cruiser, Cutlass, F-85, 442, (Pontiac)Tempest, LeMans, or GTO; 69-72 (Pontiac)Gran Prix; 70-72 (Chevy)Monte Carlo.

I believe that these are the only ones that have the proper brackets welded on for your suspension. U-joints may vary.

Both 10 Bolt (28 spline) and 12 Bolt (30 spline) are 30 5/32 overall length per the GM parts catalog.

10 Bolt usage is 68-72 Chevelle, 70-74 Camaro

12 Bolt usage is 68-72 Chevelle, 70 Camaro

It's also possible that some MonteCarlos or Firebirds may use this axle.

12 Bolt axle (3969285) was still available from GM as of 10/1/95
