just did something stupid and picked up a "spare" frame for who knows what.
Anyway the owner thought it was for a chevelle, but when I went to get it, its got the bop type 10 bolt with the scallop on the 3 and 9 oclock positions. its a drum brake frame and using a pos mystery tape I get approx. 110" but then again I measured it against my 70 chevelle and I get the same 110" so I know its the way im measuring. But seeing the bop rear, I just want to know if the frames are all the same. or did I just bring home more scrap metal thats got to head to the dumpster? Thanks.jim

i know there are some minor differences on the large cross-member under front of engine
also at the rearmost cross-channel v-shape is different for fuel tank filler on different years...

Two door cars have 112 inch wheelbase. Four door, wagons, and el camino have 116 inch wheelbase. El Camino and converts get some extra reinforcements and take different cross members if I recall.

Its definetly a ht frame. I found a number on the drivers side rear
39943331 (S) 193
4 25 N 2 XK

Maybe a moderator could move this to the tag team and someone could tell me what this frame is from. The fuel line and return is on the drivers side. Thanks. Jim

I actually got the frame for a spare for my 70, as long as I know it works for it. Im pulling the suspension off of it and hoarding it on the side of the garage. The A arms are great to have around, I bought all the rebuild stuff for my 68 el camino, went ahead and installed new bushing and ball joints into a set of spare A arms so when the day comes to rebuild the front end, I can just unbolt and replace. I think the lowers are even the round bushings instead of the ovals on the new frame. Now the bop 10 bolt is probably headed to the junk pile. I just checked and its a 2.73 open. I will post up here before it goes to the recyclers. Id rather give it to someone that could use it before I toss it. I know a few months ago I needed all the brake guts and drums for my 67 and Philip was nice enough to donate a set to me, I would definetly recipricate and offer up anything I dont use to anyone that could use it. Actually my new 66 rearend Im putting in the el camino doesnt have any brakes or backing plates so Im probably going to use everything off this rear so I can keep the other rear intact when it comes out. jim

Agreed 100%. I printed the schematic off and went out with my cheesy tape measure, its definately a 2 door A body frame. So now I have something to take apart this week after work! I may use it to mock up my tubular trailing arms, slapper bars and frame braces. I can use this thing to make sure I have all the correct length hardware so when I swap the parts into my chevelle or el camino Im not spending half a day finding bolts. jim
