I have got a set of 05 GTO seats, I am thinking of using them in my 70 has anyone done this before. If so how hard was it and how much modifications did you have to do. Were you able to keep the power and how hard was it to wire them up. Any help will be appreciated.

I put 05 GTO seats into my 70 chevelle wagon. my wagon is a low budget weekend cruise. I really didnt care if i drilled the floors. so with that said. it was really easy. powering them up is just a + wire. the other is ground. I used the GTO seat brackets. cut 1/2 of the back tabs off and welded new flat stock to reach and match the floor. I used 1 orginal hole in front and drilled a new holes for the others. added large area washers & all done.

They were not real hard if you have a little welding and fabrication skill. I made mount's on the front inside corner's and welded those to the floor with a 5/16 stud sticking up to bolt that corner to. The front out side corner's bolted to the existing seat hole in the floor. The rear's i cut off the GTO bracket's and made new bracket's and welded them to the GTO track's and bolted them thru the floor, they just missed the factory floor support so i cut 3/16 flat metal as a washer and welded that to the floor support. The plastic on the outside of the seat near the switch's at the floor needed to be cut off about 3/4". then run a 12 volt power for the seat's , all you need to do now is sit back in the most comfortable seat i think that can be installed in a muscle car.
