I have recently been looking into getting Lasik Eye Surgery. I have yet to see a doctor aobut it, but I have been reading up online about it. I have read many articles about how good it is, but I read one (from the FDA) that outlined the pros and the cons, and the cons seemed very substantial (blindness). I know that they could be on there because that happened to a very small percentage of patients, but it's enough to make me think.

Has anyone had it? Did it hurt? Was your experience with it positive?

My wife did about two years ago...on one eye. She used to have to wear one contact.
I watched the complete procedure on a TV monitor. Awesome! Takes about 20 minutes and is totally painless.
She now has perfect eyesight.

I had laser PRK last fall. Wasn't a good candidate for Lasik, since my cornea's are relatively thin and my vision was REALLY bad. Best money I've ever spent. No pain in procedure, minor discomfort in recovery. Would do it again in a heartbeat if I had it to do over again.

Go to the best, most experienced doctor you can find.

I had mine done in 2000 by TLC Laser Vision here in Denver, all went just fine, I had worn glasses for 40 years with some contact lens wearing in there too ..............after the surgery I could see halos around street lights and taillights @ night but that went away after a couple months if I remember correctly.............. these guys did Tiger Woods eyes.

I'm getting mine done in a few weeks. I'm having the bladeless procedure done, it costs a little more but is safer. I believe its called intralace, where they use a laser to cut the flap. You might want to look into that if you havent already.
