I've got a 69 nomad with a bad sender. Has anyone ever put a sedan or elco tank in a wagon and just maybe used a different hose from the filler tube to tank? just thinking about being able to service it later and not have to rely on specialty shops since the wagon sender is not repro. I have a trailer hitch back there too and feel like it wouldn't be hard to fabricate something to share those mounting points.

yeah I'm going to pull mine and clean it and maybe bring it back to life but I can't find someone to refurbish it less than 6mo out, but I feel like this could be a good alternative/upgrade. wonder why the car leans is got 20gallons of gas and me sitting in the driver seat.

For my 69 Nomad, I needed a sending unit with an electric fuel pump for the LS swap. So I modified a coupe type sending unit and used the rheostat from a Equus 9982 GM universal sending unit. You could easily add the Equus rheostat to the wagon sender.

Thanks,
David

So that's why my 68 Malibu wagon is at least 1" lower on the drivers side:unsure: Do you have any Idea where I can get a new sending unit for the drivers side type tank? will El Camino work?
