I can't imagine it would. I have similar parts on the ends of my rack and pinion setup. I don't think the front end moves that much to throw off the steering. I did set my toe in though with the car raised up a little to compensate for it.

if your steering shakes hitting bumps it normally indicates loose parts in the front end. When was the last time you did a safety inspection on the front end? how old are the steering linkage parts?
