Looks like either a roof clearace light or a top of fender/quarter panel turn signal. Running lights for boats are red/green or white...

That is one of those super rare elcamino cab lights only available on the 1970 Elcamino but only with the LS6 engine option and towing package.
Also Must be a stripe delete car with bench seat automatic. other requirements for gettiing the (VERY RARE LS6) cab lights would include air shocks, 8 track tape player, and would have had to have been built on February 6th of 1970 between the hours of 7:00 and 9:15 AM

Yep use to see a lot of them across the cab above the windshield.
We would bolt one on top of our bycycle front fenders.

I was thinking it was some type of clearance/fender light, but was hoping for a more defintive answer.

Its on ebay the seller dont know what its for either.

I was thinking it may have been for a boat also. But in Minnesota, law states red and green lights must be used. Im not sure if its the same in other states. That clearly has yellow. Makes total sense that it would be for the top of the cab on a truck.

you would be lucky if you ever got anybody to pay you your dollar back for that thing.

Yes it is an old cab light. It can come with either a glass or plastic lens. I have seen many of them on trucks in the '60's. Not worth much and the housing appears pitted pretty bad.

Might look cool on the fender of a custom motorcycle, but the lens would need to be red though.
