My Dad's Chevelle run low 14's with a mild 454, closed exhaust, street tires, 308 gears, and no posi. The engine now is a 454 bored .030, 8.75:1 compression, Comp Cams Roller Cam 283THR7, Harland Sharp roller rockers, Wilson 1" tapered spacer, Holley 750 DP, Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake, heads are passenger car oval port w/ no port work or bigger valves, 2" Hooker Comp headers, Pertronix flame thrower HEI, 3.73 gears w/ an Eaton Posi and 28x10 M/T slicks, the transmission is a turbo 400 w/ a TCI breakaway converter (2400)...Would that be enough to run low 13's? Possibly high 12's. The rear suspension is stock, but we may add air bags and lift bars. It's an all steel street car. It has not been lightened, so Im figuring it weighs around 34-3500.

I am just hoping for low 13's. I raced a 68 road runner that was a low 12 second car (had it for 18 years)...Im still pretty new to Chevy and I know that comparing the two would be comparing apples to oranges. It just doesnt seem like a lot of "tech" to be a 12 second car, but I hope that it is...I know one thing, I should have went Chevy a long time ago. Aftermarket parts are a lot more reasonably priced for Chevrolet.
