Nearly $10,000 and reserve still not met.

It has some things wrong (if you care about that sort of thing):

Original (rare) "GMC" grille emblem missing - replaced with modern "GMC" emblem.

Hub caps say "Chevrolet" - GMC would NEVER put those on.

"350" fender emblems shouldn't be there.

"GMC/Sprint" fender emblems placed too high.

Steering wheel is wrong type, "GMC" on horn button is modern vintage.

Heck, it almost looks as if it was an El Camino cloned into a Sprint.

If I had 10K to spend on that car, I would save my money and took a few more extra grand and put it towards that SP 454 that was sold on Flea-pay a few weeks back instead. A great car for not much more money.

The Sprint and the El Camino were built on the same assembly line. However, the GMC Sprint is a bit more deluxe with more appeal and more insulation.
This was from the ad description. Betcha didn't know the part about more insulation. ;)

You mean besides the obvious fact those are all shill bids....edited
OK. I've bought and sold a few things on eBay. I thought I had detected shill bidding on the occasional item I was interested in. But, this was before users' ids were hidden. It seemed that certain users would bid on items from certain other users with great 'regularity'. But now that you can't tell who's bidding on what, how do you determine if there is shill bidding? Is it because the user who seems to want it the most has just registered?

Did'nt the exhaust exit the behind the rear wheeles not the bumper on these so you could use the tailgate?
In stock form, the pipes exited behind the rear wheels. Many people (including myself) like the have them exit under the rear bumper. This does not interfere with the tailgate operation.

Rear bumper guards would be a different story, though.

Dan;
You have been around eBay a while and understand the bidding process, what else is wrong with this auction?

Not what I would call a true auction.
That's what I was saying, but didn't spell it out completely.

The only "true" auction is an auction where there is no reserve, a low starting bid, and no bidding by the seller's agents. This auction certainly doesn't qualify as a "true" auction.

Why do some of these have the SS dash, and some have the sweep speedo??

Why do some of these have the SS dash, and some have the sweep speedo??
For the same reasons that some 1971 Chevelles have a sweep speedometer and some have a round speedometer.

If the car was ordered with optional gauges, or the SS package (Chevelle, El Camino), or the SP package (Sprint), then it would have a round speedometer.
