My stock ZZ-502 ran 12.19 in my 72 with 3.55 gears, 3000 stall converter, and 275-60-15 Drag radials.

So I'd guess you will be that quick anyway.

Some guys are getting high 11s with a little more drag specific set up.

My car is not set up for drag racing and easily runs in the 11's on Goodyear Eagles. I got booted from the track after 3 back to back 11 second runs with 60's in the 1.85 range!

With a stock zz502 and race springs and shocks my 69 ran two 11.9's. That was with slicks and 2 1/2" mufflers.

The convertor I used racing was a TCI Breakaway. It brokeaway alright. It split at the weld on the two halves.
Now I have a custom 11" Coan.

The 60 ft times were 1.633 and 1.674.
Pulled the wheel too

BTW I think this car weighs about 3770.

I would guess since your car is probaly lighter you can get low 12's high 11's.
Once you get it to hook.

thanks for the reply....are you considering any type of nitrous set up?? I read about that zex system ant sounds pretty cool..
Yes, I've given some thought to a bottle in the trunk.
I'm not sure if I'll go that way or maybe change the cam for something more aggressive. The bottle is only a factor when you use it, so it wouldn't deminish what I consider pretty mellow street manners for a 500 hp engine. Less complicated than a cam change too.

If I'd juice this thing, all I'd really want would be 11.50 so I wouldn't have to do the roll bar thing. At 6'4" and 39 years old, don't want to climb through a jungle gym just to drive my car.

But I have long dreamed of a car that would do a wheelie. :D
