I purchased a 496 from Mark Jones back in March for my 1969 corvette convertible 4 speed, I drove to pick it up when he had it ready and got to see it run on the dyno, I cant speak highly enough on how great my experience was with Mark, I have been completely satified with the build, its a 496 with 049 iron heads small isky hyd roller 850 holley made 682hp and 687ftlbs on the dyno, I've been beating the hell out of it on the streets for the last 4 or 5 months now, I'm running a m20 4spd with a centerforce dual friction clutch and a stock 3:36 rearend, 2" headman headers and full 3" mandrel bent custom exhaust with race pro mufflers, I know my time is limited on the rearend and transmission but until then I"ll keep enjoying it, the motor idles nice at 850 rpm the drivability of this thing is amazingly nice, smooth and calm, one would find it hard to believe that it makes close to 700hp even my grandmother could drive this to the grocery store, once its rolling its unbelievable how hard it pulls to 6000 through all gears, no oil leaks and never runs over 180 even in stop and go traffic at 100 degrees in memphis. Thanks again Mark Jones VortecPro
