hello folk's new over here and this is my first post. i found a 69 malibu vert in a leaky barn. its all there was used as a drag car, its got a jacked up roll bar. looks to be a 350 in it now? it is buried and cant really get any pic's or do a inspection of it. but there is no doubt it would need a total fram off resto. the owner is asking $5000.00. seems like to much to me?

Is it a Malibu or SS optioned? Value depends on condition, rust, etc., and missing parts. A solid SS vert that's all there, except maybe engine IMO would be $5k. A rustbucket Malibu not. You have to determine exactly what's there and the condition before thinking about value.

You really need to get pictures to get a good price/opinion...

The car might be worth $5K all day long, but we might tell you it isnt because we cant see it...

What I would suggest is get some pics, and come back here and post them. If you cant figure out how to post we can help you with that too.

thank's, it is a plane jane malibu no ss opt.not the born with motor it was 307 but it is complete, plus a trunk full of extra parts. front seats are from second gen camaro does have a console automatic, will try to get some pic's maybe next week. it is two hours from me so have to plan my trip's. the problem with pic's is no light's in barn and you can barely get past the car. plus it is stuck behind a henry J another old drag car so cant get it out very easy. i got the driver door open once and it dropped about a inch. from what i can see i dont think it's rotted to death but sure it's got some rust issue's. you can see a couple spot's that where patch poorly. trying to get a feel for a fair price i know it's tough with out pic's. any ball parks welcome /high low prices. that way if i can get it out or just a better inspection of it. i would feel better about making a offer or pass on a money pit.
