Never used them before now and trying to find out the correct way to assemble them. Found plenty of info on the hose ends but nothing about assembling the couplers. I am trying to find out if you are supposed to use any type of sealant and how tight they should be.

No sealer. The seal is made by the making of the flare shape and cone shape. If you have a pipe to AN adapter, then the pipe end needs sealer.

I do put a touch of grease/oil on the AN treads
As for how tight-my 6AN wrench is 2 inches long(About the same amount of touque as used on a CHEAP 1/4 bolt) and my 12AN wrench is maybe 4 inches long(not much more)

But that would be to lube the threads, not as a sealer. Not a bad idea.

I read somewhere that the hose ends fittings have to be matched with same branded hose. Is this true for all the fittings or are the coupler fittings interchangeable from brand to brand?

Also is it ok to reuse fittings after they have been tightened?
