I have a 71 Elky with the optional guage pack. Why is it that the amp guage needle always is just a small amount to the right? The only time it reads higher is when the battery is down. It never gets to the point where you would think it's indicating 14 volts on the scale as it charges? It has been this way since I got the car years ago. P.S., I have a new printed circuit and no electrical problems! Thanks, Scott!

Mine always sits a little bit to the left, a little more when I'm cranking the stereo and actually moves to the beat. I don't think the factory amp gauges are very accurate other than to show there is a draw.

Sounds like it's working correctly. It goes over more when the battery charge is down then moves back to center when the battery is charged back up. Remember it's an amp gauge, current flow, not a voltmeter, there is no 14v on it's scale.
