I have a 163 snowflake intake with a casting number of 11 25 18 on the bottom. Can anyone decipher this date code if that is what it is. Thanks, Dan.

Recheck that 18.
It's probably Nov. 25 ,1968

It sure looks like a clear 18 to me but stranger things have happened.

OK ,you have a Nov 25 ,1918 dated manifold :thumbsup:
I'd figure someone at the foundry had a bad day or didn't realize that an inverted 9 could pass as a 6.
Could also be a 78 service replacement and the 1 was to be a 7 but ...

I thought intake casting dates were formatted as letter (month A...L) 1- or 2-digit day of month and single digit year such as J 25 8 for October 25, 1968. Check for something in the format L NN N.

Reread this old thread. http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124517 The manifold in question appears to have the casting number and Winters logo in a different location from actual 60's production intakes.

FWIW, the intake in the photo above came on some 80's and later crate engines and was sold over the counter at GM up to a few years ago and is not "correct" for any restoration.

Notice the snowflake up by the carburetor instead of on the intake runner. :thumbsup:

Well now we are getting somewhere. I use it for the bang not for the restoration deal. I was just curious as to its origin.
