My alernator tested puts out 14.3 volts when I start car it only reads 12.3 volts battery won't stay completely charged, I put on new voltage regulator, my battery charger indicates what % battery is recharged after starting, if I drive car for 15 minutes they battery will indictae 65%, it takes about 15 minutes to bring battery back to 100%, after installing new voltage regulator the alernator still indictes 12.3 output volts. Any help would be appreciated.1967 SS 396-375 HP

Thanks

Does the regulator have a ground strap? Think the 69 is mounted on rubber wellnuts unlike later models which are screwed down.
Have continuity (no opens) on the two wires from the alternator to the regulator?
