Yup. I had stacks of em from the 70s. I started reading them after I got bored collecting those HotRod card/stickers with monsters driving them. I cant remember the name of them now but they were sold on packs like baseball cars. Even had a slab of gum in them.
I think they were garage sale'd after I left home.

I mentioned the CarToons mag to my wife last year and she found a few "classics" in a comic book store. Good memories.

You guys know you can have George Trosley do a personalized drawing for you now, with your cars in it and it looks like a scene from Krass and Bernie?

I'm not supposed to know, but my wife ordered one for me with my chevelle and camaros in it.

They go for like $199 I think. The memories I have of reading Cartoons are the best. I have several stacks of them around yet and still read thru them quite frequently. The price for a personalized drawing is nothing to me for something from George Trosley.

That magazine made me dream about owning a muscle car when I was old enough, I started reading it when I was about 12 or so. Only took me 30 years to afford one.......... :)

Great memories for sure. I remember CARtoons and Hot Rod Cartoons alternated every other month. I'd get one from the magazine rack at the grocery store when Mom had to take me with her for the weekly shopping trip. Guess it was my reward for not being too big a pain to her while shopping. I got a couple of issues off Ebay last year to put with my collection of 60's car brochures. Unk and the Varmits were a blast, and the scenes with Garlits and Craig Breedlove battling were great too.
