Does anybody know what is generally involved in the 5070 Partial Port and Polish for a SBC/BBC 4 barrel manifold, as offered by AFR?

The price is way more than I would expect for a simple port match, which I believe is a different part number and a bit less. What constitutes a "partial port" in AFR's mind?

If one were to buy heads with a few upgrades, sending in a manifold to be ported, etc, would it be normal to go through a reseller or to work directly with AFR? I realize there are some great resellers out there, but my gut feeling is that as things become less of "give me part number xxxx" and more of "give me xxxx, but make it like this and add these options and let me send you my yyyy to match with it" then having nobody in the middle is a better idea.

I would definitely contact AFR on this one, as they would give you the correct answer you are looking for.

I probably will contact AFR, however at the moment I don't have time to call and their web site only gives an e-mail address for "existing customers with simple questions".

Besides, you never know what you might learn from people who have been around a given block a time or two.

Contact Tony Mamo at AFR. He designs their heads. You won't get a straighter answer that from him. He has been around the block a time or two, or he would not be there.
