After installing our Air Gap, we tried to put our bypass hose in and boy is it ugly. We have two short, straight nipples and the bend is to sharp and kinks the hose. How have you solved this? Any part numbers for specific nipples that you used?

Thanks alot,

Chris

I haven't had a problem with mine. I used a parts store hose that was a little long and it fit nicely. :D

I've heard you can drill a few holes in your thermostat and plug the bypass with about the same results. I have alway plugged mine, but don't drive on the street much.

Plug it...you don't need it. Mine's plugged, street driven and NEVER runs over 180 degrees.

With a LWP I use a cut down stock bypass hose with the molded bend in it. Looks and works great. But YMMV depending on what water pump you have since I doubt that all are created equal with respect to bypass connection angles. My case is an Edelbrock aluminum model.

Personally I would not plug the bypass. I am sure you can and also sure it does work. But I can also easily believe that it works *better* to have the bypass. I would not expect any top temperature difference but I would expect better more even warmup. This in turn helps power and engine life.
