I've been searching for a small, relatively quiet air compressor for inflating tires, soccer balls, and those sorts of things- not painting or sandblasting. I'm willing to spend more for a good quality unit that will last a long time, not the cheap off-brand stuff at Home Depot or Menards.

I'm considering the Makita MAC700 for $165 from Amazon.com.

Anybody have any recommendations?

I have an older sears model (pewter color) my Dad got at a garage sale for $10. 220v motor was wired for 110v so it didn't run very well. Been going strong on 220 for over 15 years now:cool: Buying new, you get what you pay for.
