I want to run some hard lines (copper or black pipe) for my compressor, but I'm having a hard time finding a flexible 1/2" line to run directly from compressor to the pipes (that will be) mounted on the wall. No problems finding a 3/8. Will that be ok to use? Go from 3/8 out of compressor to 1/2'?

Will one of those steel braided water lines from hardware store work?

Go to a hose shop and buy a short piece of 5/8" hose with pipe fittings on either end. Adapt them to your setup. Better to be a bit big than too small. It should be real cheap too. They'll crimp the fittings on whatever length of hose you need.

Do as Cameano said, go to local hose shop. I picked up the one for mine on Friday and ir was $16 for 2 ft and 1/2 line. I ordered it the day before from them. Now to finish the rest of the plumping.
